Web logs, or blogs are now an everyday item in our lives. You probably already read a couple favorites every day and have a blog yourself. Blogs are interesting because they generate lots of text content in an orderly dated archived manner. Search engines love blogs for that. Blogs are a new resource for information, trends, news and in a short time have become a big part of everyday life on the net.

Because search engines love fresh content, giants like Google purchased Blogger.com. Blogger sites show up well on Google searches, so it is a great place to blog. Blogger is FREE as well, and gives you the option to host with them at blogspot for free, or host your blog in your own host space. Blogger is also perfect for those wanting to start a podcast.

The coolest thing is that Google has contextual ads called AdWords, and you can make money by displaying these AdWords ads on your blog, web site, forum, guestbook... any place that has lots of text as content. The content generates which type of ad shows up, so if you write about dogs and cats, ads for pet care products and dog food will show up, so the ads actually appeal to your readers. It's amazing. The ads change on their own depending on what you write about, so your ad always relates to your content. Like I said, it's amazing.

To get the AdWords ads on your site, you have to sign up for a Google AdSense account to get your very own copy/paste code to paste into your site. Everytime your AdSense account generates $50 worth of clicks, you are sent a check made out to your name. I have huge traffic and make about $300/month from my Google AdSense account, and I love it. It's the best affiliate program I have ever used. If you write a lot of content, you need an AdSense account to help generate some extra cash. Oh yeah, and it's FREE.
